Pairs well with: It’s almost Fall, but not quite.
The small percentage of Viognier in this wine is pleading for more Summer; the Shiraz says Fall is just around the corner – and there’s no going back now.
The Fun: The colour is a medium to deep ruby, with purple hues. The aromas are a delicate yet complex mix of blueberry, blackberry, plum, vanilla, eucalyptus, violet (thanks for the flowers, viognier!), cedar, black pepper, and a hint of leather. The flavours are similar, with the spice and herbal notes standing out a bit more. The balance is excellent, with acidity, tannins, and body all moderate. The finish lingers with blueberry, pepper, and vanilla. It’s silky and very drinkable!
The Facts: 2015 Vintage – Shiraz (and a small percentage of viognier) – Langhorne Creek, Australia – Aged in French and American oak for 12 months
