Pairs well with: Trying new seafood recipes
Vinho Verde is typically a light and refreshing white, but from aging on the lees – this wine is left creamier, and fuller tasting.
The Fun: The aromas of this wine are so fresh and vibrant, with notes of grapefruit, apricot, red apple, lemon/lime, pineapple, and honeysuckle. It is very similar in flavour, but with the citrus more prominent and with some light mineral and spicy hints. It is medium-full bodied, with bright acidity, and yet has a creamy feel in the mouth from aging on the lees (dead yeast cells). The finish is fairly long, with refreshingly bitter grapefruit, lemon/lime, white pepper, and mineral notes lasting.
