Sartori L’Appassione

Pairs well with: The homemade pasta sauce that my mum makes.

My mum is a ridiculously good cook – being Italian, I suppose it comes with the territory; however, she sees that line of “good” and crosses it with her “Mother of All Sauces”. This wine would be the perfect date for an evening of canoodling with the Mother Sauce.

The Fun: This wine is medium bodied, soft, and pleasant, with a nice, fruity richness to it.  It has aromas of blackberry, cherry, prune, mocha, clove, and a bit of tobacco and leather.  In the mouth the flavours are similar, leading to a medium length finish of mocha, tobacco, and dried black fruits.
It’s straightforward but tasty!

The Facts: 2013 Vintage – 50% Corvina, 25% Corvinone, 20% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon – Verona, Italy
